The role of the council
COSAGO holds hometown, sport, professional, and cultural groups so they can act as one body. Principles: unity and service.
What we carry
Independence. An ecumenical service and a gala luncheon with the Consulate General each October.
Penn Relays. Walkathon, prayer breakfast, supporter bus, housing and uniforms for SVG high-school athletes.
Honors. Recognition for people and member groups who already serve.
Relief and the scholarship. Hospital and disaster aid with partners, and the King-Forbes scholarships (two candidates).
How we are organized
The public name uses Organizations, plural. New York and IRS records use Organization, singular. The seal carries 1989. The New York not-for-profit filing is 1993. Federal 501(c)(3) recognition on the IRS business master file is dated August 2025. The council is nonpartisan.
