Overview of COSAGO’s Role
The Council of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Organizations USA Inc. (COSAGO) serves as the unifying body for a diverse network of member organizations that represent the interests and aspirations of the Vincentian diaspora in the United States. Established in 1989 as a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, COSAGO is driven by the core principles of unity and service.
What We Do
- Advocate for Unity: COSAGO brings together a network of organizations under one cohesive structure, promoting shared values and objectives. By encouraging collaboration and partnership, COSAGO amplifies the collective impact of its members.
- Promote Cultural Preservation: We celebrate and preserve the rich heritage of St. Vincent and the Grenadines through cultural events, educational programs, and community initiatives. COSAGO ensures that the traditions, stories, and values of our homeland are passed down to future generations.
- Support Community Development: COSAGO and its member organizations work tirelessly to address the needs of the Vincentian community, including disaster relief efforts, youth outreach programs, and access to education. Together, we aim to uplift and empower individuals and families.
- Facilitate Resources and Opportunities: COSAGO provides member organizations with the tools, connections, and support needed to thrive. This includes facilitating knowledge-sharing, offering resources, and creating opportunities for collaboration on impactful projects.
- Organize National Events: As a central hub for coordination, COSAGO organizes national and community events that bring Vincentians together, such as cultural festivals, conferences, and fundraising initiatives.
