Earl Horne
Public Relations Officer
Earl Horne served as the Secretary of the Saint Vincent and Grenadines Football Association (SVGFA) from 1973 to 1976, where he also managed both the senior national team and the U19 C&W team. Responsible for scheduling all games for the league, which consisted of 10 teams in Division A and 8 teams each in Divisions B1 and B2, Earl meticulously organized matches in a round-robin format. Known for his attention to detail, he often used colored crayons and white Bristol board to ensure error-free game schedules.
In addition to his role at SVGFA, Earl was the Secretary General of the Windward Islands Football Association (WIFA), attending all meetings regardless of location. He was also Secretary of the Leeward and Windward Islands Football Association, which was defunct after two years. After migrating to the United States in 1976, he channeled his passion for football into founding HAIROUN SC, where he served as President. Earl played a crucial role in the club’s success in the CBSL, a league he co-founded. He later became the Manager of TEAMSVGUSA in the Caribbean Cup, making both HSC and TSVGUSA prominent representations of the Vincentian community in New York.
Earl was instrumental in integrating HSC into COSAGO, where he has served as Public Relations Officer. Additionally, he has dedicated twenty years to the Crown Heights Beacon After School program, working with Medger Evers College as one of the program’s supervisors. His lifelong commitment to football and community service continues to inspire those around him.
